How this works

In the UK we buy fuel in litres but measure economy in miles per gallon — different units, which makes it tricky to know your true cost per mile.

This app converts your MPG to litres-per-mile automatically (1 UK gallon = 4.546 litres), then multiplies by your fuel price to give you a real pence-per-mile figure.
